Improving Your Blood Circulation

Patients with vascular diseases such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) are often advised by vein specialists in Houston to gradually ease into an exercise program to support blood circulation. Regular exercise is also beneficial for patients with other circulatory concerns, including varicose veins. If you’ve already been diagnosed with a vascular condition, consider talking to your vein specialist before starting or changing an exercise program.

This video covers the basics of beginning a walking program. It recommends that patients try to exercise three to four times per week. Begin by walking at an easy pace and stopping for rest if pain becomes bothersome. As each week passes, you can slightly increase the distance and speed of your walks.
